Running compliance training is not the same as demonstrating compliance

Running compliance training and demonstrating compliance are not the same thing.

Many L&D teams I speak with know they have a compliance training problem.

What they're less sure about is what the problem actually is.

Is it completion rates? Probably not. Most orgs can get people through a module.

Is it the content? Sometimes. But often it's something less obvious.

It's the gap between running compliance training and being able to demonstrate compliance.

Those are two very different things.

One means staff have been enrolled, reminded, and completed something.

The other means you can answer, quickly, confidently, and with evidence, whether your organisation is actually meeting its obligations. Where the gaps are. What would happen if an auditor asked tomorrow.

A lot of organisations are doing the first and assuming it covers the second.

It doesn't always.

If you're responsible for compliance learning and you're not completely sure your evidence would hold up under scrutiny, that's worth looking at before someone else asks you to.
